This is a neighbourhood with young children. 24% of the population is ages 0 – 9 and 10% ages 10 – 14. Only 11% of the population is 55 and over and only 2% 75+. 80% rent, only 25% live in single family homes. 45% live in townhouses and 16% in apartments. 97% of the neighbourhood has a housing stock which is over thirty years old with 46% of the housing stock being over sixty years old. English is the dominant language spoken here at 95%. Sarnia was incorporated as a city over one hundred years ago and it is somewhat surprising that so many families with young children have congregated to this neighbourhood and not retirees. Despite the high number of people who rent in this neighbourhood, this neighbourhood has a low density feel, that is in part to the absence of commercial activities. That is a good thing!
