“The Villette”
The front sign near the road says “The Villette, Spacious Luxury Suites”. Are these units’ rentals or are they owner occupied units? Well, the answer is both. Some units are rentals, some are owned. This is an older complex and it was not until 2013 that individual units began to be offered for sale using the service of the “MLS” System.
These are two storey, two bedroom, 1.5 bath units with gas heat. Two clusters of seven units each back onto the street, three center interior clusters of seven, eight and nine and one rear cluster of three. Most, but not all of the end units, have a “Mansard” style roof design. Some light orange/brown bricking and some brown bricking, large front main level windows, black painted front doors, brown or black shingles, some recently installed bold light chocolate brown upper siding colours and some more normal siding colours.
Immediately to the north of this complex are two ten storey rental high rise buildings. Is that a good thing of a bad thing? In a way it does not matter. It does not block the sun and the ground level trees offer a bit of a buffer zone. Some might go so far to say that it adds an urban feel. In this neighbourhood 47% of the population lives in apartment buildings.
We also note that going into 2021, the condo fees are in the $411 per month range. Improvements to older buildings can sometimes be expensive.
