3962 Lakeshore Road, Camlachie
Units in original building 15
Units in adjoining new townhouses 15
Built 2004
Registered as condos 2010
This project is a few kilometers east of the "Sawmill Creek" condos. Originally, it was known as "Kountry Korners Condominiums". The new sign now says "Lakeshore Landing Residence".
The drive back to Sarnia's city limits at Mandoumin Drive is 6.8 kilometers. This area is near the southeast shores of Lake Huron and new pockets of residential growth are sprouting up. Fleming Road, for example, just to the east of the Sawmill Creek condos has a number of new streets being built out.
In our pictures, we show an older two storey structure with a front upper rap around front balcony. These were once condos and during the 2010-2014 time period, multiple attempts were made without success to sell some of these units on the "MLS" system. It was a building not that well suited to being condos with so much exterior work always to be done, wooden balconies, gravel driveways and so many differences in unit sizes. Known unit sizes are 591, 685, 740, 817, 1188, 1200 and 1292 sq ft.
This building has yellow vinyl siding, white trim, a grey metal roof, an upper landing and two front corner turret balconies. Large bright main floor windows. Views mostly of neighbouring corn fields.
Then in 2019, the last unit was sold to a company which now owns all of these units. It is now a rental building.
In 2020 – 2021, fifteen new units built in three clusters of five units each have gone in. They are “Cape Cod” inspired. Four different model styles with finished square footages (note this includes some finished basement space) of 1,727; 1,742 and 2,018 square feet. One plus two upper bedroom designs or two plus one upper bedroom designs. Nine foot ceilings on the main, quartz countertops, single attached garages with inside entry, main floor laundry, hardwood floors and private concrete patio areas.
The colour schemes vary. Some have a pinkish hue with pink coloured front doors, black shingles and white garage doors and trim. Others have lime coloured siding with unusual front door colourings. To the rear of this project are farmers fields and some distance backdrops of forest.
Will they be rentals or will they become owner occupied? We will let you know. Visit sweethomesshores.com.
We also note the new owners are the same people who recently built out the "Athlone Village Towns" in Woodstock. See #19 Woodstock – South – 435 Athlone Avenue. If you are moving to the Sarnia area with the intentions of purchasing a home or a condo in the future, living here in a new townhouse may be an option to consider.
